The South African Mints first release of a Silver Krugerrand came in 2017. The mint celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Gold Krugerrand in style that year issuing what it called a Premium Uncirculated Silver Krugerrand with a mintage of 1 million coins and a 1 oz proof silver version as well. The mint even offered a Platinum Krugerrand that year.
